Get Me Outa Here

Friday, March 31st, 2006

Hi, I’m Roe’s new Blythe doll. Roe has wanted me for a really long time. She finally got off of her duff and bought me from an EBAY seller. I was sooo excited. Imagine going from the freezing East Coast, living in a dark box to sunny Nor Cal and freedom!! Then what does she do??? She puts a picture of me looking like the Bride of Chucky on her blog. How totally embarrassing for me!! I wish somebody would get the spider web off of my head!!

Hobo Bag & Musings of Spring

Sunday, March 26th, 2006

Finally! Some down time. I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like I am running just as fast as I can. It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of life. All the things that need to get done and all of the things I really want to do. I have been busy redecorating and a little remolding of our living room. I now have glorious color and an entire wall of shelving and entertainment organization, including my favorite: the computer armoire.

Today was an incredibly beautiful spring day in Northern California. The kind we’re famous for. Cloudless skies and beaming sunshine. I downloaded some podcasts on my MP3 player, grabbed my crochet went outside! I sat next to my roses and in the sun. While successfully ignoring the weeds that called my name, I crocheted and enjoyed the humor, philosophies and trials and tribulations of other crocheters and knitters. WOW. I needed that.

Below are some pics of my latest project. Stitch Diva’s Hobo Bullseye Bag.
They used Berroco Twist and Suede. I used Suede and Touché and as you can see, chose different colors. I will line it, add buttons in the middle of squares and place stars along the gusset, if I can find them. I am blocking the front and back then I will put it all together.

I do have an FO to share. Here is a beanie style hat with a shell edging. I crocheted it with alpaca in DK weight. I love the colors. This was in FC EasyKnitting Fall of 2004. I have enough yarn to do a matching scarf.

Crochet PodCast

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

I finally found a Crochet PodCast. Jeanie now has 2 episodes under her hook (pun intended). I must be tired because that cracked me up! Like many of us she considers herself a crocheter who knits. She has some good music, informative links to crochet news and information. She is bright and entertaining. Tune in and see what you think.

More Television?!!!!

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

Looks like a couple of new fiber and craft television shows soon to air. Lily Chin will host Stitchcraft. The first epsidoe is sceduled for Sunday, March 5 th at 3:00 PM (check your local time zone). This will be yet another “knitting” show but I am hoping that Lily will get some crochet in. The promo states, “Host Lily Chin imparts plenty of knit wit throughout the show in the form of “Lily Tips” — time-savers and advice for all knitting skill levels culled from her years of experience.”

The next is Uncommon Threads is coming to DIY. No date yet. This one promises that “each episode sheds a modern light on the art of needlecrafts, including appliqué, crochet, embroidery, patchwork, quilting and rug making.” Now this speaks to me !! Wow. Imagine getting a somewhat complete fiber fix? I get all itchy just thinking about it. I hope I don’t have to get a DVR
